The Fairies of Italy at the Radicchio d'Oro Award

We still carry in our hearts the exciting evening of the Radicchio d'Oro Award, a special event that paid tribute to the extraordinary artistic gymnastics athletes (Alice D'Amato, Manila Esposito, Angela Andreoli, Giorgia Villa and Elisa Iorio) who made Italy dream at the Paris Olympics and in many other competitions. Dr. Fabio Fontana summed up the well-deserved celebration of our gymnasts as follows:
"On Monday 18 November, after a thousand vicissitudes, I managed to bring the 'Fairies of Italy', our Olympic gymnasts, to Castelfranco Veneto. The event was held in the splendid setting of the Ancient Theater of Castelfranco, where the athletes were awarded the prestigious Radicchio d'Oro Award.
Despite the name, which might make you smile, the Radicchio d'Oro Award is a recognition of great value: a sculpture in crystal and gold, handmade by the master Varisco. This award is awarded every year to Italian excellence in various fields, such as sport, entrepreneurship, cinema and gastronomy. Among the winners of previous editions are prominent names such as Marcel Jacobs, Fabio Capello, Arrigo Sacchi and chefs of the caliber of Davide Oldani. This year, it was an extraordinary honor to have the fairies awarded right here in Castelfranco Veneto.
The participation of the gymnasts, however, was not at all obvious since the following day, the athletes, being all agents, had to participate in the National Police Day in Rome, with performances already scheduled at 7 am. Only thanks to the help of our contacts, we were able to confirm their presence.
Not only did they attend the ceremony, but they agreed to have dinner with us before taking a sleeping car to reach Rome in time for their busy schedules. This gesture demonstrates their commitment, their professionalism and, above all, the mutual esteem that has been built between us.
A big round of applause goes to the teamwork we did together with my team – Dr. Mattia Plati, Dr. Alessandro Cova and all those who supported us. The bond with these athletes has not only been built through events like this, but thanks to months of working side by side in the gym. Since a year before the Olympics, we have introduced nanotechnology into their training to support them in the most difficult moments of preparation.
Thanks to our technology, we have monitored and managed the pain and tension of the athletes, helping them overcome injuries and push their limits. I have had the opportunity to personally see the exhausting rhythms they undergo every day, without ever giving up. Our contribution has helped them improve their performance, allowing them to continue training with intensity even in the most critical moments.
These girls are not only champions in sports, but an example of dedication, sacrifice and resilience. Bringing them here, to witness their success on the stage of Castelfranco Veneto, was an immense honor and recognition not only for them, but also for all the work we have done together.
Heartfelt thanks to all those who made this unforgettable evening possible!"
