Asja Zenere conquers a magical podium in the World Cup

We knew it: our brand ambassador Asja Zenere has talent, grit and determination to reach the top and yesterday, March 8th, in Val di Fassa (TN) she proved it by conquering the podium in the Women's World Cup Super-G for the first time in her career. 

 In a very tight race, decided on the edge of hundredths, the athlete from Enego finished third, behind Elena Curtoni and the Norwegian Kajsa Vickhoff Lie, with a gap of +0.27 seconds from the winner and just one hundredth from the second. A day to remember for women's Italian skiing. 

This feat is worth much more than a simple "top three": it is the best placement ever for Asja on the international circuit and he arrived in a discipline that, on paper, was not considered his flagship specialty. 

An extraordinary result that comes after her Olympic participation, when she stood out with the best time in the second giant slalom run, confirming all her qualities. This goal, awaited and built with patience and work, is the reward for an athlete who has never given up in the face of difficulties and injuries. 

With a concrete, mature and courageous performance, Zenere said: "After Soldeu I hurt my knee, but this morning I woke up well and managed to put a super race on the track. I didn't expect to be third, but this is even better. It's an incredible day. I never thought I would make the podium in Super-G before in giant slalom, which is a discipline that I feel more mine. On this track we feel particularly at home, in San Pellegrino. I never thought I didn't have the cards to reach the podium. I hope my health improves: if you go fast, the results come. I have always struggled and I have always fought to get the result. Now I enjoy it, and then as it comes, it comes."  

Asja Zenere has been able to become one of the best in the world, giving us a day destined to remain etched in the sporting history of the area. Brava, Asja! We are proud to always be next to you.
